In this round of Neuroqueer Talmud, we will begin with early rabbinic texts that explore categories of gender beyond the binary - and trace these ideas into the worlds of Jewish mysticism. We will study how the rabbis named and worked with different gender expressions, how they imagined embodiment, and how these conversations evolved in later mystical thought.

Neuroqueer Talmud | Ableism, Power Dynamics, and Oppression in the Talmud
In this 8-week zman, we will be looking at one of the Talmud’s most famous narrative tales thru the lens of ableism, autism, difference, and power.
It’s a mixed-level space, where we will be focusing both on the sugya itself while also developing Talmud learning skills.
Each session will be 2.5 hours and consist of both chevruta (paired study) and shiur (discussion).
