i learn, teach, write, grow, and experience the Divine from everywhere I make my home (both in the Diaspora & Eretz Yisrael).

I’m a leader of support groups for autistic humans (both Jewish and non-Jewish), help make Jewish communities more affirming for neurodivergent and all disabled folx, and teach Disability and Neurodivergent Torah both online and in-person around the world.

I’m the co-editor of Neurodivergent Torah which will be published in 2026 by Ben Yehuda Press.

I’m studying for rabbinical ordination at the École Rabbinique de Paris and am pursuing my doctorate on the treatment of neurodivergence, disability, and madness in Rabbinic literature.

I’m also the co-founder and spiritual director of La Shul, an intentionally egalitarian, queer, disabled, neuro-affirming, neo-hasidic, and diasporist spiritual Jewish community in France.

Outside of my work with the jewish community, I am an autism educator and consultant and the founder of the #actuallyautistic coach.

what i do
(and do fairly well)

  • The ceremony was the most meaningful and beautiful wedding that our guests or us had ever been too. Thank you so much. You made it beautiful.

    D & A - Philadelphia

  • We loved working with Mati for our baby naming ceremony. Mati was an excellent listener and so responsive to our wishes in co-crafting a connected, meaningful and holistic virtual experience (via zoom) to welcome our little baby alongside our family who are based all over the world. Mati's values of inclusion and joy shine through his soulful work. Thank you, Mati!

    E & S - Dublin

  • I discovered Mati’s work during a time when I was trying to balance my autistic social overwhelm with my need for Jewish community. This openly autistic rabbi provided a unique form of support that many people might not realize is necessary. Mati is someone who brightens the world simply by having the courage to be true to himself/themself.

    L - Atlanta

  • You wove together tradition, emotion, and authenticity with such grace. Every person in the room felt part of something real. Thank you for making our day so special.

    H & S - London

  • Since beginning to work with Mati I have noticed a material shift in the way I exist in a world which isn’t really designed for me. I have been able to continue to unmask and also to get closer to my Jewishness.

Mati has curated a space which is open and accepting and has concrete suggestions which are easy to incorporate into my daily life. In short, I would encourage anyone who identifies with what they have read here to engage with Mati and his practices.

i know what it’s like to be different, just like you. we are blessed.

we have been taught to be ashamed, to be quiet, to listen, to be small. I reject this. autistic and other neurodivergent and disabled jews will not silenced or reduced to window pieces for inclusion. i am committed to creating true neuro-affirming communities

I want to make your community neuro- affirming.

Inclusive Education and Training

I provide workshops and seminars for Jewish organizations, schools, and synagogues on neuro-inclusivity, focusing on creating environments that support and respect neurodivergent humans. By offering practical strategies and resources, we help create environments that support and respect neurodivergent humans, ensuring we feel valued and understood within our communities.

Customized Community Support

I lead support groups and develop tailored programs for autistic members of the community, their families, and allies within the Jewish community, ensuring everyone is understood and valued. These programs offer a safe space for sharing experiences, building connections, and accessing resources. We focus on fostering a sense of belonging and providing practical support that addresses the unique challenges and opportunities faced by neurodivergent humans and their families.

Neuro-Affirming Jewish Practice

I integrate neuro-affirming practices in religious services and rituals, such as offering sensory-friendly services, providing transliterations, and ensuring accessibility for all. By working closely with clergy and community leaders, we help create spiritual experiences that are meaningful and welcoming for neurodivergent individuals, allowing them to fully participate in their faith and community.

Going Beyond Acceptance and Awareness

Advocate for true equity by not only promoting acceptance and awareness but also implementing concrete changes that ensure full participation and inclusion of neurodivergent individuals. This includes creating policies that accommodate diverse needs, actively involving neurodivergent voices in decision-making processes, and continually adapting practices to remove barriers and foster a genuinely inclusive community.
